Freelensing

Freelensing is a photography technique where you literally remove your lens from the camera, then manually manipulte the lens with your hands in front of the camera sensor.  It creates very dream like photos, with soft focus and light leaks, you can also get super Macro shots and wicked Bokeh.

So I attempted this indoors for my first time, also the weather was miserable outside.  It took a little fiddling around with at first to figure everything out.  How to turn the lens to get the proper soft focus and bokeh and out of focus areas.  Firstly, you have to set your camera to Manual mode, since the lens isn’t communicating with the camera.  Then while holding the lens with one hand and your camera with the other and sort of put the lens in front of the camera sensor and look through the view finder, move it around to get your desired shot.  You can also adjust the focus ring on the lens with a free finger for better focusing.

Then just shoot away, play and experiment.

Here are my results from my first experience.  And I used no post processing
